Dear lovely creatives, dear followers!

Here comes another update from 1000faces and Lari - find news, free illustrations, articles and thought-pokes!

🎨 Wait, someone got a tan!

There are awesome news! The 1000faces basic pack is now available IN COLOUR! You can download it here, it’s for free until 15th of December, after that it’s 8€ ♡🙂

A follower on Twitter had told me he would use the illustrations if they were diverse in skin colour. Of course, they were! It was just not as obvious since they were line drawings. So now, here we go! We’ve got all skin and hair colours, all kinds of backgrounds, all kinds of beautiful humans.

📱iPadable

(You know how I did that? I finally got an iPad, so I don’t have to go through the whole process of vectorising my paper drawings! Whoop whoop! Learning lots of tools now. My work is on the way to become iPadable, colourable, scalable.

My partner, however, is already suffering because my iPad and I have become pretty close.)

✈️ Lari also got a tan

Aside from the iPad, there have been other major changes in my life. Four weeks ago, I moved from Berlin to Bali - the vibe of these places couldn’t be more different. I love it here - the air is full of culture and tradition, people still believe in things, I am free to work in any of the beautiful co-working spaces or at the ocean, and the food is extremely delicious and suitable for slightly overdramatic guts like mine. Most of all, my partner is here.

Being separated geographically for four months was kind of exhausting! So yeah, relieved and happy to be in this new place.

But leaving Berlin meant leaving a lot behind. Dance training, friends, a community, flatmates. How to find ground in a new place, how to find friends and communities that feel trusted and fit you? Still working on that one. Reach out if you have any experience you’d like to share!

📝 Writing: Structuring design work in Figma

To the designers among you: I just published my take on best practices for structuring your files in Figma (across workspaces, projects, files and pages). How do you structure your design work? What’s a file instead of a project, and how do you use pages?

(Also, on a different note: why not hit the follow button on Medium! I need 38 more followers to stay on the writer’s plan… 😬😬😈🦾)

🧐 Thought-poke

We’re so different, but everyone is an “I”.

Do you know this thing that people say: Past and future don’t exist, because all that ever really is, is “now”? Similarly, I often think, we’re many different people, but everyone is feels themselves as “I”. When I look at someone, I imagine I would have been born as them. If I was born as them, I would behave the same way, wear their clothes, feel their emotions. Do you also do that? Look at people and imagine how it feels to have that handbag as “yours” and that bracelet, and those thought habits?

“Could have been born as her/him/...” I don’t even know if it makes sense to you guys. To me it’s interesting, and helps if you’re ever jealous or feel like being judge-y.

That’s it for now! Wishing you all a lovely December, the month of constantly rearranging your room for no reason (at least for me). The month of deciding what you want to change next year, but not changing it yet!

Lots of love from this beautiful island that smells of petrol and incense.
